The St. Louis County Historical Society (SLCHS), under the guidance of its American Indian Advisory Committee, is proud to announce its annual Native American Heritage Day! This year’s theme focuses on Native American citizenship, in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924. A panel discussion will delve into the ideas of citizenship and its meaning for Indigenous community members living in northern Minnesota.
SLCHS Native American Heritage Day is Saturday, November 23rd from 11AM-3PM at the St. Louis County Depot (506 W. Michigan St., Duluth, MN 55802). Opening remarks begin at 11:30, with the panel starting at 1pm. A free lunch of frybread tacos from The Food Stand will be provided, along with open museum galleries and craft activities for all ages.
